(More customer reviews)I've had this pad for 3 years, and it's still running faithfully, despite my keeping the fans running continuously for months at a time. Frankly, I'm surprised that it has been this durable, since the fan and power cord (with integrated on/off switch) seem a bit flimsy. The pad keeps my ThinkPad and Compaq laptops pretty cool normally. At times, however, the Thinkpad would climb over 60 degrees Celsius under high load in Vista (that's the internal temperature - externally, the laptop would feel hot to the touch). I've since reverted to XP, and the laptop now feels cool to moderately warm under load with this chill pad underneath. Would recommend if you can get it for cheap and if your laptop only needs mild to moderate cooling. Otherwise, go with another pad like the X-pad slim, which has surprisingly good cooling power and which you know will be durable because it has no moving parts :)
