(More customer reviews)My air handler is a horizontal installation(in attic) and the distribution box is made of fiberglass. The box was taped to the metal air handler blower outlet frame 3 years ago when new. The original tape had deteriorated and the box was nearly detached from the air handler, causing a big air leak. I removed the old tape and used this product to reattach the airbox to the air handler. This tape was relatively easy to peal the paper layer off and wide enough to grip enough of the air box and handler frame. I used a couple of rows of tape to attach the box and also used this tape to reinforce the main and secondary fiberglass flex ducts where they attach to the airbox. I covered this tape with duct mastic (RCD #6 duct mastic, 1 gallon pail)applied with a 2 inch wide paint brush. I would recommend this tape and mastic combination for a variety of duct repairs.For less than $40 in materials I avoided a $400 repair estimate from a local air condtioning company. I have enough tape and mastic left over to do the job again if necessary, but am hoping it lasts another 3 years!
